H.E. Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia will pay an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 18 - 19 January 2019. Prior to the official visit, the Minister is scheduled to attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat, hosted by Thailand as ASEAN Chair, from 17 - 18 January 2019 in Chiang Mai.

H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will host a working lunch in honour of the visiting Minister on 19 January 2019. The visit aims to promote closer cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia in all areas. It will also provide an opportunity for both sides to follow up on the outcomes of Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad’s visit to Thailand from 24 - 25 October 2018, whereby the Prime Ministers of the two countries agreed to elevate Thailand-Malaysia relations to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership, particularly in the fields of security, cross-border economic development and connectivity, as well as to work closely together towards a more secure and prosperous region and a truly people-centred ASEAN Community that leaves no one behind.
