During 24 - 28 November 2018, H.E. Mr. Paul de Jersey, Governor of Queensland, Australia, and his spouse, Mrs. Kaye de Jersey, officially visited Thailand to further enhance relations between Thailand and the State of Queensland.

During the visit, H.E. Mr. de Jersey’s programme includes a visit to Royal Chitralada Projects, a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Atthaniti Disatha-amnarj, Privy Councillor, and an official luncheon hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Governor also visited Suan Dusit University to witness the re-signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Teacher and Student Exchanges between Suan Dusit University and TAFE Queensland.

H.E. Mr. de Jersey is the first Australian State Governor to officially visit Thailand. The visit signifies the close relations between Queensland and Thailand’s various sectors. Queensland has longstanding relations with Thailand. More than 10,000 Thais reside in Queensland, 2,500 of which are students, amounting to ten per cent of the Thai community in Australia. The state also attracts most investment from Thai investors in Australia. Therefore, Thailand is committed to further enhance cooperation with the State of Queensland, especially in the areas of trade and investment and people-to-people connection.
