H.E. Mr. José Condugua António Pacheco, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique, and his delegation, will pay an official visit to Thailand as Guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, visit to Thailand during 3 – 5 December 2018, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique will pay a courtesy call and join a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Both sides will discuss politics, trade and investment as well as development cooperation. In the evening, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand will host a dinner in honour of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, and his delegation.

Mozambique is currently Thailand’s largest investment destination in Africa with a total investment approximately 6.5 billion US Dollars covering energy, infrastructure, and hotel management and hospitality. In addition, Mozambique is one of the most important sources for fine gemstones for gems and jewelry industry in Thailand.

Mozambique is also one of Thailand’s most important partners in implementing the sustainable community development projects based on the application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP). The Center of Tilapia farming in Bilene, Gaza Province, serves as an example of a successful development project in Mozambique. The next stage of project will include the rice cultivation demonstration, integrated farming, and fish feed production.

During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique will be accompanied by a delegation of high level officials as well as leading Mozambican businessmen to promote trade and investment between the two countries.

Activities during the visit will include a seminar on “Mozambique: A New Perspective for Trade and Investment” on 3rd December 2018, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique will deliver his special remarks, followed by business matching. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique will also visit Chaipattana Foundation’s Agricultural Service Center located in Pathum Thani Province, PTTEP Core Research Center, agricultural machinery factory and the 22nd  Kaset Kamphaeng Saen Agriculture and Horticulture Fair.
