On 17 November 2018, Mr. Thani Thongpakdi, Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, presided over the Offering Ceremony of the Royal Kathina Robes graciously bestowed by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, to the congregation of Buddhist monks at Vihara Jakarta Dhammacakka Jaya, Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony was headed by the Most Venerable Bhikkhu Sukhemo, Chief Incumbent of Vihara Jakarta Dhammacakka Jaya. The representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were H.E. Mr. Songphol Sukchan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, H.E. Ms. Phasporn Sangasubana, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, and Mr. Pichayaphan Chanbhumidol, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs. The Diplomatic corps, representatives of the Thai private companies in Indonesia as well as Thai and Indonesian Buddhists also attended the event. Over 200 people attended the ceremony.

This is the 7th Royal Kathina Offering Ceremony in Indonesia, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and this is the second time that the ceremony is held at Vihara Jakarta Dhammacakka Jaya. The temple is known for being the first Theravada Buddhist temple in Indonesia. On this occasion, the donation to the Monastery from His Majesty the King, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Thai and Indonesian Buddhists totaled 376,218 Baht (156,757,667 Rupiah).
