Thai Ambassador to Andorra with residence in Madrid met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Andorra

          On 21 August 2018, H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Andorra with residence in Madrid, bid a farewell call, upon the termination of her duty in Madrid, on H.E. Ms. Maria Ubach Font, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Andorra.

          Ambassador of Thailand congratulated Andorra for hosting the 27th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of States and Governments in 2020 and the Pro Tempore Secretariats of Ibero-American Conference during 2019-2020. She also shared with the Foreign Minister of Andorra that Thailand will assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2019. The issues that Thailand will focus on during the Chairmanship coincides with the topics that Andorra would prioritize during the 27th Ibero-American Summit, including sustainable development.

          During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the development of political and economic situation in each country. Moreover, the prospect of cooperation in various fields were discussed, including how to increase trade and investment between Thailand and Andorra as well as the possibility of organizing a Thai cultural activity in Andorra to promote Thailand among Andorran tourists. During the first six months of this year, the bilateral trade between Thailand and Andorra totaled 230,000 Euros, a 142.64% increase from the same period of last year, being plastic products the most important export of Thailand to Spain with a skyrocket increase of 443.24%.

          After the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Andorra hosted a luncheon in honour of H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Thai Ambassador to Andorra, at Siam Shiki restaurant in the city of Andorra La Vella
