On 16 August 2018, Ambassador Nantana Sivakua, led a group of 12 executive members from 9 Thai companies that invested in Australia to meet with officials from  Department of Home Affairs, DFAT and Austrade, at the office of Department of Home Affairs. The purpose of the meeting was to provide a face to face session for both sides to discuss and exchange information on rules and regulation regarding various types of visa. The Thai businesses also raised questions in details of how to apply visa for their managerial staff from Thailand to work on a temporary basis in Australia. The meeting was conducted with very positive atmosphere, thanks to the competent and hard-working team from Home Affairs, DFAT and Austrade, and produced the very satisfying outcome. The business executives viewed the meeting as useful and productive, giving them an opportunity to ask questions with ample explanation.

Before the meeting, all Thai businesses attended a working lunch at the Thai Residence, hosted by Ambassador Nantana. It was the first time in years that all Thai companies gathered together in Canberra, enabling them a chance to build network and exchange ideas.
