On 18 – 19 August 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy, together with the Team Thailand Offices in Moscow, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Government of Moscow City organized the “Thai Festival in Moscow 2018” at the Festival Square, Sokolniki Park, in order to promote “Thainess” through different dimensions, including arts, tourism, as well as authentic Thai products and food. The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Thanatip Upatising, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, Mr. Ilya Kuzmin, Deputy Minister for External Economic and International Relations, Government of Moscow, and Mr. Dulayadej Vatcharasin, Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of the Kingdom of Thailand.

          This year’s festival was attended by representatives from Government of Moscow, Royal Thai Government’s affiliated agencies and representatives of the public sector, namely Thai Airways International Plc. Ltd. and PTT Company Limited, diplomatic corps, business owners, press and friends of Thailand. With more than 30 businesses and 120,000 attendants participated, the Festival was considered a huge success in showcasing cultural performances from the Thai Dance Club in Russia and Tourism Authority of Thailand, authentic Thai food and fruit stores, imported goods and massage service provided by local and Thai businesses, Muaythai training workshop from the Phayao Muaythai gym, as well as cultural workshops on Thai crafts and arts.
