On 8^th June B.E. 2561 (2018) at 10.00 am. Mr. Miguel Angel Elias Avalos, Congressman (of Popular Force party, representative from the region of Ica) and President of the Peru-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship League of the Congress of the Republic of Peru paid a visit to Mr. Angkura Kulvanij, Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. of Royal Thai Embassy in Lima, at the Embassy where both discussed ways to deepen bilateral relations under the framework of the Thailand-Peru Parliamentarians Friendship Group. Mr. Miguel sees that Thailand and Peru, both have history of ancient cultures and thus wishes to promote cultural exchanges with an aim to enhance the bilateral relations. On the other hand the Chargé d’ Affaires was of an opinion that aside of promotion of cultural exchanges, exchanges of visits at various levels would be able to further strengthen the relationship. As it would be an opportunity for each country to share knowledge, experience, aptitude, interest, which can lead to concrete collaboration in various fields. The Chargé d’ Affaires also used the opportunity to provide information about the promulgation of the new constitution of Thailand in April 2017, Thailand political reform that’s been happening according to the roadmap announced by the Prime Minister and the general election which is expected in 2019, including the preparation of the 20- years National Strategic Plan for achieving sustainable development.
