On June 3, 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi and the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Victoria together with the Thai people in Seychelles organized the Thai Community Day at the Victoria Botanical Gardens. More than 100 Thais and Seychelles attended.

Participants had the opportunity to enjoy Thai-style cultural activities through foods, deserts and refreshments as well as traditional folk dance. In addition, Thai community in Seychelles had planted endemic palm trees inside the Garden to symbolize the lasting relationships between Thailand and Seychelles.

On the same occasion. The Thai community in Seychelles also had the opportunity to discuss the Dharma led by Monk Chandhana (Sri Lankan monk) on the topic of "happiness", which will be applied as a guidance of life and work while living abroad.

The Victorian Botanic Gardens (Seychelles) also hosted folk performances, which convey the Seychelles way of life, closely linked to the sea and nature. The show drew a lot of fun from both Seychelles and Thai people.

Victoria Botanic Gardens is one of the major tourist attractions of Seychelles. The Gardens includes a Thai plant section, which has been developed through the cooperation with the Botanical Garden Organization of Thailand, exhibiting orchid, fern species, various tropical vegetation, herbs and spices. The Gardens is a symbol of cooperation between Thailand and Seychelles.
