On 18 April 2018, H.E. Mr. Saroj Chavanaviraj, Secretary-General of Thailand Foundation and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-hosted the Cocktail Reception with Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and International Federation of Muaythai Amateur: IFMA) at Arnoma Grand Hotel in honour of VIP guests who attended the opening ceremony of Bangkok Sports Festival 2018 at the CentralWorld Square, including the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Ms Anita DeFrants, Vice President of IOC, Mr. Patrick Baumann, President of Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) and diplomatic corps in Bangkok. 

          The Bangkok Sports Festival 2018 was organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports from 17 to 19 April 2018, with activities include sports and martial arts demonstrations, such as Muaythai, Takraw, Sumo, Aikido, Jiu-jitsu, Bodybuilding, Vovinam, Judo, Kendo, etc. The Festival is a side event of the SportAccord Convention 2018 hosted by Thailand during 15 – 20 April 2018. It has been attended by over 1,500 people from international sports community worldwide, including Mr. Thomas Bach, President of the IOC.
