Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and International College, Mahidol University, are jointly organizing a training course on “Sustainable Development in Developing Country: Thailand’s Model for Africa” to be held on 3 – 25 March 2018. Fifteen participants from six African countries Gambia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Senegal, Togo and Uganda, will be attending the training course at International College, Mahidol University Salaya Campus, Nakhon Pathom Province.
The training course will show Thailand’s economic development models based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), as alternative models of development for African countries in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The objectives of the course are to (1) illustrate the sustainable development approach in Thailand’s local context and the application of the SEP in business, education, public health, environment, and tourism sectors at both local and national levels; (2) promote understanding of the SEP among participants; and (3) strengthen networking and cooperation between Thailand and African countries in attaining of the SDGs.
TICA, as the focal point of Thailand’s international technical cooperation, has played an active role to enhance capacity building for African Countries via training courses and sharing of Thailand’s best practices and experiences.
