During 20 – 21 February 2018, His Excellency Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, will attend the Third High Joint Commission (HJC) for Bilateral Cooperation between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Bahrain in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. The Meeting will be co-chaired by Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries. 

As the main bilateral mechanism driving Thai – Bahraini relations, the Third HJC Meeting aims to discuss key and potential areas of bilateral cooperation and follow-up on cooperation in various fields agreed by both sides, including outcomes of the meeting between the two Prime Ministers during the official visit of the Prime Minister of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain in April 2017, for the mutual benefits of the two Kingdoms and peoples. The key areas of cooperation to be discussed during the HJC Meeting are, inter alia, trade, investment, public health, food security, energy, agriculture, tourism and others, as well as mutual support in the regional and multilateral fora. 

The HJC consists of representatives from various ministries and agencies concerned with the two Foreign Ministers as co-chairs. The Senior Officials’ Meeting will take place prior to the Ministerial meeting and will be led by Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mr. Tawfeeq Ahmed Khalil Almansoor, Assistant Under-Secretary for Western Countries and Afro-Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain.
