Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will organize 2 training courses under Annual International Training Course (AITC) framework during 12 February – 13 March 2018.

          The first training course is “SEP: Thailand's Path towards Sustainable Development” which will be jointly organized by National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) during 12 - 23 February 2018 in Thailand. Participants from 8 countries, namely the Philippines, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Bangladesh, Kyrgyz, Tajikistan, Chile, Costa Rica and also Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will attend this training course.

          The course aims to share Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) as an alternative development approach towards sustainable development to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as Thailand’s expertise and experiences in sustainable development. Meanwhile, the course will provide a platform to exchange lessons learned and creative ideas from different contexts among participants which can become knowledge sharing platform and a network for future collaboration.

          The second training course is “Forest-based Eco-tourism Management in Thailand” which will be organized in cooperation with Royal Forest Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand during 17 February – 13 March 2018 in Thailand. It will be attended by 22 participants from 22 countries which are Argentina, Cambodia, Chile, Comoros, Egypt, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kiribati, Liberia, Mali, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Niger, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Togo, Ukraine, Viet Nam and Thailand. 

          The course aims to share Thailand’s experiences in community-based eco-tourism management, particularly forest management. At the end of this course, participants are expected to understand concept of community-based eco-tourism management and its contribution to sustainable forest conservation as well as roles of stakeholders engaging in forest-based eco-tourism management. Moreover, participants are expected to be able to formulate relevant plans and policies which are applicable to their local contexts.

          In 2017, TICA provided 31 training courses under AITC framework to 536 participants from 108 countries. In 2018, TICA has planned to provide 33 training courses.
