             On 16 January 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels organized a press conference for 60th Brussels Holiday Fair (Salon des Vacances) as Thailand is this year's Country of Honour. Mr. Piyapak Sricharoen, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, welcomed the press on behalf of the Ambassador and said that Thailand is honoured to be a Country of Honour at the 60th Brussels Holiday Fair this year which coincides with the 150th Anniversary of the Signing of the Treaty of Amity and Commerce between Thailand and Belgium. Mr. Bart van den Kieboom CEO of FISA, the organizer of the Fair, and Mr. Oliver Duumelie, Director of the Fair, explained about the Fair and the concept and theme of this year. Mr. Koen van den Bossche, a representative of the travel entrepreneurs from Flanders Region, presented the potential of tourism Thailand, which is the top destination for Belgians in Asia and a second place in long distance destination for Belgians, with more than 100,000 Belgian tourists visiting last year. Ms. Worapa Angkhasirisap, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Office in Paris, presented the new campaign "Amazing Thailand: Open to the New Shades", which encourages visitors to discover a new perspective on Thailand, at both existing and new places and attractions. The press conference was attended by around 30 people.
              Brussels Travel Fair is Belgium's biggest travel fair with more than 100,000 visitors each year. This year, it will take place during 1-4 February at Brussels Expo, with the themes, Cruises - Wellness & Health - Gastronomy.
