On 27 September 2017, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, met with The Right Honorable Alistair Burt, MP, Minister of State for the Department for International Development and Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

 

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to constructively exchange views and share common concerns on regional issues especially on the situation in Rakhine state. In this regard, both sides recognized the importance of humanitarian assistance which should be provided to the affected areas and communities in a timely manner. Moreover, Thailand expressed its readiness to host the Third Thailand – UK Strategic Dialogue in January 2018 which will be another step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation.
