On 3 February 2015 Ms. Suchada Thaibunthao, Director General, Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA), Professor Suthipun Jitpimolmard, M.D, Director General, Thailand Research Fund, Ms. Anne–Charlotte Malm, Head of the Development Cooperation Section, Swedish Embassy, Bangkok and Associate Professor Dr. Peter Sundin, Uppsala University, Sweden, jointly  signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Fellowship Programme for Doctoral Studies at Buakaew Hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony witnessed by distinguished guests from both Thai and Swedish sides.

 

This programme are jointly organized and supported by TICA, TRF and Uppsala University in agreement with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sweden to strengthen cooperation in building human resources capabilities in the Basic Sciences area for the benefit of students from low–income countries in the South and South–East Asian Region. The duration of fellowship will cover three consecutive academic years which consists of study for two academic years in Thailand and one academic year in Sweden. 

 

This collaboration will be implemented under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden on Trilateral Development Co-operation, signed on 29 September 2005 which utilizes each other’s expertise of their respective ODA in third countries as the important development partners for both parties, and also to support the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Busan Declaration, based on areas of mutual interest such as health, environment and capacity building
