The Embassy hosted the event for the Thai community in the evening of Friday 28 November 2014 at the Ambassador’s Residence. The event was attended by about 400 people who registered their homage and best wishes to H.M. the King before Ambassador Warawudh Chuwiruch led the candle lighting ceremony and singing of royal anthems. Most participants had previously attended the Thai Labour Sports Day at the Zayed Sports City National Stadium, which was organized by the Labour Section of the Embassy.

Then, on Wednesday 3 December 2014, the Embassy hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps and foreign counterparts at the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi. In his speech, the Ambassador praised H.M. the King’s brilliance especially in the development field, which led to the United Nations recently declaring the 5th of December of every year as the World Soil Day. Afterwards, the approximate 300 guests watched Thai traditional dances performed and carving demonstration performed by a delegation from the Thai Ministry of Culture, which was part of the Thai cultural roadshow project in Ethiopia, the UAE and Egypt, while enjoying the delicious Thai cuisine.
