Mexico is hosting the ICOPA (International Congress of Parasitology) 2014, a meeting on parasitology and tropical medicine, between 10-15 August 2014. The Thai delegation is represented by 13 professionals from the field, headed by Dr. Yaowalark Sukthana, Dean of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine at Mahidol University, Dr. Jitra Waikagul, President of the Parasitology and Tropical Medicine Association of Thailand (PTAT), and Dr. Pratap Singhasivanon, President Elect of PTAT.

           On this occasion, PTAT has also presented Thailand’s candidacy to host the next ICOPA in 2018. A Thai Cultural Night was hosted at Camino Real hotel on 11 August 2014 to promote Thailand’s candidacy, which was presided by H.E. Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico and also attended by Mr. Paisit Boonparlit, Minister-Counselor, Royal Thai Embassy.
