            On 8 August 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima organized an event called “ The Amazing Thai night”. This special event is organized in  partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand or TAT, which is represented  by Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa , Deputy Governor of TAT, Hansa Peru Travel Agent and the Peruvian Federation of Muay Thai. The objective of this event is to showcase Thailand in both cultural and tourism aspects, through the authentic Thai food, Thai cultural performance, Thai massage and  Muay Thai martial art. 
            Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond informed the participants that Thailand is well-known for its unique cultural heritage as well as its dynamic economy. Thailand is considered the second largest economies of Southeast Asia and is member of ASEAN or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, comprising 10 member countries which will become the ASEAN Community by 2015. Thai food is highly regarded as one of the most popular cuisine which can be found almost everywhere while Thai massage is one of the signature massages can be found in many spas around the world, including in Peru. The Thai traditional martial art or Muay Thai has been practicing by people of all ages and of all nationalities especially in Latin America.  The Thai hospitality has been well recognized as we continue to welcome tourists from all over the world with an outstanding record of 26 million international tourists last year. To provide tourists with a greater peace of mind, foreign visitors can now buy the insurance coverage online to protect themselves against unforeseen events ranging from accident, trip cancellation, loss or damage of baggage or personal belonging, emergency hotel accommodation
            For the political situation in Thailand, Ambassador added that after the taking control of the administration by the National Council for Peace and Order or NCPO on 22 May, Thailand is more peaceful. Both ordinary citizens and the business community expresses their satisfactions and readiness to participate in the country’s political reform. Thailand has moved forward the reform as planned. A Provisional Constitution was promulgated and a National Legislation Assembly, tasked with selecting the Prime Minister and drafting a new constitution, was established. After all processes have been done with an aim to move Thailand towards a fully functioning and sustainable democracy, National elections are envisaged for October 2015. Thailand appreciates the support and understanding from the Government of Peru and its people.
             During the event, the 250 guests, including diplomatic corps, high level officials from public agencies, businessmen, academic professors, press , friends of Thailand as well as Thai people, enjoyed variety of Thai food, Thai cultural dances performed by the daughters of Ambassador and the Peruvian group dancers Gopesvara , demonstrations of Muay Thai and  relaxing free Thai massage. All guests were invited to participate in the raffle draw of the Embassy to win many prizes, among other, a roundtrip air ticket from Bogota to Bangkok and tour package in Thailand sponsored by Lufthansa and Hansa Peru Travel .
