On July 21, 2014, H.E. Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation hosted dinner for a Thai delegation led by Mr. Voradej Harnprasert, Director - General of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transport of Thailand, who visited Russia for the negotiation on the amendment of the Thai - Russia Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services.

       Ms. Kalayanee Sirkul, Minister (commercial affairs), Mr. Pasakorn Supanapan, Director of the Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Moscow and Mr. Manan Boonyachai, General Manager of the Office of Thai Airways International in Russia also attended.

       In responding to the high demand of Russian tourists traveling to Thailand, the Thai Ambassador reiterated the opportunities for the Thai Airways International for her flight operation on Bangkok - Moscow - Bangkok route. He also shared his views with the Director - General of the Civil Aviation Department that the expanding of the airline route from Russia to other Thai tourist destinations such as Krabi Province would be beneficial for the marketing diversification of Russian tourism in Thailand.

        The Director - General, at the meeting with the Russian aeronautical authority from July 22 - 23, 2014, has successfully concluded the Memorandum of Understanding to amend the Thai - Russian Air Services Agreement. Such significant development has helped further strengthen the Thai interests in Russia on tourism and export business.
