On 21-25 May 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy embarked on a Thai-Malaysian business networking project, where Ms. Saowalak Chaichuson, Deputy Chief of Mission, led a delegation of 18 representatives of the Malaysian food, beverage, restaurant and hotel industries to Thailand with a view to learning more about the potential of Thai products and services and expanding the network of cooperation between Thai and Malaysian agencies and businesses. During the trip, the Malaysian business representatives had an opportunity to meet with various agencies in Thailand, including the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and to visit the THAIFEX fair as well as to engage in discussions with Thai business counterparts. In all, the Malaysian business representatives had expressed their interest to work further with Thai businesses. Additionally, they were also able to observe the political and business climate in Thailand first hand during the time of change, giving them further confidence about the potential of the Thai-Malaysian economic cooperation.
