Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand enhanced bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Thailand and Portugal especially in the area of culture, as well as cooperation between ASEAN and the EU, as Portugal will become the next President of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2021, during a farewell call by the Ambassador of Portugal, upon completion of his tenure.
On 4 December 2020, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, welcomed H.E. Mr. Francisco de Assis Morais e Cunha Vaz Patto, Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to Thailand, during a courtesy call to bid farewell at the end of his tenure.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador of Portugal’s active role in enhancing both bilateral and multilateral relations between Thailand and Portugal of more than 500 years, especially in the area of culture. Both sides also exchanged views to further deepen the existing cooperation, including through ASEAN-EU relations as Portugal will become the next President of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2021.
The Ambassador of Portugal commended the Royal Thai Government for all the support extended to him during his tenure and expressed hope that the relationship will continue to be strengthened.
