On 26 June 2020, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, delivered remarks at the Recovery Better Together Action Forum via teleconference, at the invitation of Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General, and announced Thailand’s contribution in the amount of 100,000 USD to the UN COVID-19 Response and Recovery Multi-Partner Trust Fund (UN COVID-19 MPTF).

The contribution to the UN COVID-19 MPTF affirms Thailand’s continued support to the United Nations’ work and its solidarity with the international community to assist countries affected by COVID-19 during this difficult time so all countries can together overcome this crisis and “build back better” for a sustainable economy, society and people’s well-being.

The UN COVID-19 MPTF, initiated and announced by Mr. António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, will serve as an inter-agency financing mechanism to help countries that have been affected by COVID-19. Among countries which have already pledged contributions are Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Slovakia, and Switzerland.  Funding has already been allocated to support immediate response projects in several affected countries.
