The Ambassador of Singapore to Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of his assumption of duty and commended Thailand’s measures in tackling COVID-19.
On 20 April 2020, H.E. Mr. Kevin Cheok, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Foreign Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his assumption of duty and expressed appreciation to the Government of Singapore and the Temasek Foundation for the kind provision of medical supplies (A*STAR Fortitude Kit 2.0) for Thailand’s COVID-19 response operation. He also sought cooperation from the Government of Singapore in looking after the welfare of Thai workers in Singapore. Ambassador Kevin Cheok commended Thailand’s measures in tackling COVID-19, which have led to a decrease in the number of new cases in the country.
Both sides also exchanged views on the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as ways to further strengthen cooperation between Thailand and Singapore, both bilaterally and within the ASEAN framework, to curb the spread of COVID-19.
