Official visit to Thailand of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and delegation will pay an official visit to Thailand, as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, during 28 - 30 August 2019. The visit is part of the regional trip of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and is also the first official visit to Thailand by the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On 29 August 2019 H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, is scheduled to meet the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar to strengthen relations between Thailand and Qatar. Both sides will discuss ways to further promote bilateral cooperation in various areas such as trade, investment, public health, food and energy security, and education. Both sides will also discuss cooperation in multilateral frameworks such as the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), strengthening of partnership between ASEAN and Qatar. They will also exchange views on the situations in the Middle East.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of State of Qatar is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Thailand, on 30 August 2019, and meet H.E. Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on 29 August 2019 to discuss economic cooperation, trade and investment, food and energy security, and cooperation in other sectors.
