เมื่อวันที่ ๓๐ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๖ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เดินทางเยี่ยมสถานสงเคราะห์ Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) ของรัฐเอกราชซามัว และได้พบหารือกับนาง Siliniu Lina Chang ประธาน เพื่อมอบอุปกรณ์เครื่องเขียนและสิ่งของที่จำเป็นต่าง ๆ และเงินบริจาค จำนวน ๑,๕๐๐ ทาลาซามัว เพื่อสนับสนุนภารกิจของสถานสงเคราะห์ฯ ในการปกป้องและส่งเสริมสิทธิของสตรี เด็ก และกลุ่มเปราะบาง ที่ถูกล่วงละเมิดและเหยื่ออาชญากรรมทางเพศ ในรัฐเอกราชซามัว

สถานสงเคราะห์ Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) เป็นองค์กร NGO ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๘ และขับเคลื่อนโดยนาง Siliniu Lina Chang ประธานสถานสงเคราะห์ องค์กรนี้มีภารกิจหลักในการให้ความช่วยเหลือสตรีและเด็กที่ตกเป็นเหยื่ออาชญากรรมความรุนแรงในครอบครัวหรือทางเพศ  โดยเฉพาะการสร้างความตระหนักรู้ด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนเพื่อช่วยเสริมสร้างความรู้ในภาคประชาสังคม โดย SVSG ได้ทำงานอย่างหนักและได้รับความช่วยเหลือจากผู้สนับสนุน พันธมิตร และอาสาสมัคร เพื่อสร้างครอบครัวให้ปลอดภัยและสร้างชุมชนที่เข้มแข็งขึ้นในรัฐเอกราชซามัว รวมทั้งส่งเสริมให้สตรีและเด็กทุกคนได้รับความเคารพและความเป็นธรรม ข้อมูลสถานสงเคราะห์ SVSG  https://svsg.org.ws/

โดยกิจกรรมดังกล่าวนี้ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการจิตอาสาทำความดีด้วยหัวใจที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ดำเนินการและสนับสนุนแก่รัฐเอกราชซามัว เพื่อให้ประชาชนซามัวได้ตระหนักถึงมิตรภาพ และอัธยาศัยไมตรีอันดีของประเทศไทย และประชาชนชาวไทยที่มีต่อประเทศและประชาชนซามัว

On 30 November 2023, Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, the Thai Ambassador to New Zealand and to the Independent State of Samoa, along with the Embassy staff paid a call on Ms. Siliniu Lina Chang, President of the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) and visited the facilities of the SVSG to exchange relevant views and to make a donation of 1,500 Samoan tala as well as stationary, sports equipment and other necessary items to support the SVSG's efforts in assisting women and children who have been victims of family violence and sexual abuse in Samoa.

The SVSG, under the leadership of President Siliniu Lina Chang, has been working since 2005 to provide personalized assistance to victims of crimes. The organization's mission, focused on protecting and promoting the rights of women, children, and vulnerable populations, aligns with the broader goal of building safer families and stronger communities in the Independent State of Samoa. The emphasis on human rights awareness is particularly noteworthy, as it reflects a commitment to empowering civil society with the knowledge needed to uphold and promote these rights. The rights of women and children to be free from abuse, SVSG, supported by volunteers, partners, and supporters, plays a vital role in fostering a community that values respect and fairness for all. Information about SVSG: https://svsg.org.ws/

The Royal Thai Embassy's contribution to this volunteer project is a diplomatic engagement, demonstrating the commitment of the Thai government to contribute positively to the well-being of communities beyond its borders.
