เมื่อวันที่ ๒๐ - ๒๑ มีนาคม ๒๕๖๗ ตั้งแต่เวลา ๐๙.๐๐ – ๑๗.๐๐ น. สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้จัดหน่วยเคลื่อนที่ให้บริการกงสุลสัญจร ครั้งที่ ๑/๒๕๖๗ ณ วัดปากน้ำ เมืองเทารองงา โดยมีชุมชนไทยที่พำนักอาศัยในเมืองเทารองงา และเขตใกล้เคียงมารับบริการกว่า ๑๕๐ คน โดยในจำนวนนี้ มีผู้ขอรับบริการทำหนังสือเดินทาง จำนวน ๙๗ ราย ทำบัตรประจำตัวประชาชนจำนวน ๓๔ ราย รวมถึงงานนิติกรณ์ รับรองเอกสาร และให้คำปรึกษางานกงสุลแก่ชุมชนไทย จำนวนกว่า ๒๐ ราย 

ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ยังได้มีโอกาสพบปะกับชุมชนไทย สอบถามการใช้ชีวิตในนิวซีแลนด์ และได้ใช้โอกาสนี้ ประชาสัมพันธ์โครงการที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ จะจัดขึ้นในปี ๒๕๖๗ และเชิญชุมชนไทยเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการดำเนินกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์ประเทศไทยด้วย นอกจากนี้ คณะยังได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมเยียนคนไทยที่ทำงานในฟาร์มเมืองเทารองงาและเมืองใกล้เคียงด้วย

Tauranga (ออกเสียง Māori: taʉɾaŋa) เป็นเมืองติดชายทะเลในเขต Bay of Plenty ที่มีประชากรมากที่สุดอันดับ ๕ ของนิวซีแลนด์ โดยมีประชากรจำนวน ๑๕๑,๓๐๐ คน (ข้อมูล ณ เดือนมิถุนายน ๒๕๖๓) หรือคิดเป็นร้อยละ ๓ ของประชากรทั้งประเทศ มีระยะทางห่างจากกรุงเวลลิงตันประมาณ ๕๒๔ กิโลเมตร เมือง Tauranga ถือเป็นหนึ่งในเขตเศรษฐกิจหลักของนิวซีแลนด์ ในด้านธุรกิจการค้าระหว่างประเทศ ศิลปวัฒนธรรม แฟชั่น และวิทยาศาสตร์พืชสวน โดยท่าเรือ Tauranga เป็นท่าเรือส่งออกสินค้าไปจำหน่ายยังต่างประเทศที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของนิวซีแลนด์

On 20-21 March 2024, from 09:00 -17:00, The Royal Thai Embassy, organized Consular Mobile Unit No. 1/2024 for the Thai Community in Tauranga and adjacent towns at Wat Paknam New Zealand Buddhist Temple to provide consular services such as Thai passports, Thai ID cards, and advice on consular legalization services.

During this consular mission, the ambassador and embassy staff had the opportunity to engage with the Thai community, and also visited the Thai community in Tauranga and nearby areas.

Tauranga, pronounced as taʉɾaŋa in Māori, is a coastal city in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. It ranks as the fifth most populous city in the country, with a population of 151,300 people (as of June 2020), constituting approximately 3 percent of the entire country's population. Tauranga is situated 524 kilometers from Wellington and serves as one of New Zealand's primary economic zones, particularly notable for its contributions to international trade, arts and culture, fashion, and horticultural science. The Port of Tauranga stands out as New Zealand's largest export port overseas.
