  1. Developments on the Situation in the Middle East
  • The situation in the region remains volatile, with ongoing retaliatory attacks between the main parties to the conflict, as well as continued attacks targeting countries in the Gulf region.

  • Iran has reportedly rejected the U.S. proposal and put forward five conditions for ending the conflict, including international recognition of Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz, while the U.S. has confirmed that negotiations with Iran are still ongoing.

  • As the situation remains uncertain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to urge Thai nationals to consider leaving high-risk areas as soon as possible and to closely follow updates and guidance through official communication channels. Thai nationals are also encouraged to register their residence and contact information with the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General responsible for their respective areas.

  1. Developments on Assistance Provided to Thai Nationals in the Area and Other Actions Undertaken
  • Regarding the joint operation between Iran and Oman to assist the three Thai crew members on board the cargo vessel Mayurina Naree, their status is still pending. The Ministry will provide updates as soon as further information becomes available.

  • Regarding the remains of the Thai national who passed away in Israel, the Ministry was informed that the original flight, which was planned to repatriate the remains of Mr. Chaiwat Waewnil, was cancelled. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv is currently coordinating with relevant authorities and the airline to arrange for the next earliest possible repatriation.

  • On 25 March 2026, eight Thai nationals travelled overland from Iran to Türkiye safely. They are scheduled to arrive in Thailand on 28 March 2026.

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its call for Thai nationals remaining in the Middle East to closely follow official updates, regularly assess their safety, and strictly adhere to official advisories.

  • A total of 1,499 Thai nationals have been assisted in departing from the Middle East to Thailand or to third countries.

  • The Government remains firmly committed to assisting Thai nationals affected by the conflict in the Middle East and ensuring their safe departure from high-risk areas at the earliest possible opportunity.
