on the Occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations

between Thailand and Myanmar

On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I have the honour to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Myanmar.

For centuries, our two countries have coexisted side by side, sharing common traditions, culture, religion and ways of life. Through these unique traits, we have moved beyond just being close neighbours to “Natural Strategic Partners.”

As we celebrate this auspicious occasion, we must enhance our coordination and cooperation at bilateral, regional and international levels to address common challenges and seize opportunities to create mutual benefits for our two countries and peoples.

In this connection, I wish to reiterate and reassure Your Excellency my determination to work closely with you and the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to advance our bilateral relations and promote inclusive and sustainable peace and prosperity for the region and beyond.

ในโอกาสครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย – เมียนมา

ในนามของรัฐบาลและประชาชนแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ข้าพเจ้าถือเป็นเกียรติที่จะแสดงความยินดีและส่งความปรารถนาดีมายังรัฐบาลและประชาชนแห่งสาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา เนื่องในโอกาสพิเศษครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย – เมียนมา

ตลอดหลายศตวรรษที่ผ่านมา ประเทศของเราทั้งสองได้ดำรงอยู่เคียงข้างกัน มีประเพณี วัฒนธรรม ศาสนา และวิถีชีวิตที่คล้ายคลึงกัน ด้วยคุณลักษณะที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์เหล่านี้ เราจึงได้ก้าวข้ามจากการเป็นเพียงเพื่อนบ้านที่ใกล้ชิดสู่การเป็น “หุ้นส่วนยุทธศาสตร์โดยธรรมชาติ”

ในการเฉลิมฉลองโอกาสพิเศษนี้ เราจะส่งเสริมการประสานงานและความร่วมมือทั้งในระดับทวิภาคี ภูมิภาค และระหว่างประเทศ เพื่อรับมือกับความท้าทายต่างๆ ร่วมกัน รวมทั้งแสวงหาโอกาสในการสร้างเสริมผลประโยชน์ร่วมกันเพื่อประเทศและประชาชนของเราทั้งสอง

ในการนี้ ข้าพเจ้าขอย้ำและยืนยันความมุ่งมั่นของข้าพเจ้าที่จะทำงานอย่างใกล้ชิดกับท่านและรัฐบาลสาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมาเพื่อพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีให้เจริญก้าวหน้าและส่งเสริมสันติภาพและความรุ่งเรืองอย่างครอบคลุมและยั่งยืนทั้งในและนอกภูมิภาค

I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Kingdom of Thailand.

I look forward to continue working more closely with Your Excellency to intensify our interaction not only in bilateral context but also in regional and multilateral fora especially in further consolidation of ASEAN Community and Unity.

I am confident that with our joint efforts, the tradition friendship, cooperation and understanding between our two countries and peoples will be deepened further in the years ahead.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration along with my best wishes for the further development of our existing multi-faceted cooperation to move forward to a new height in the coming years.
