ตามที่เกิดฝนตกหนักอย่างต่อเนื่องในประเทศศรีลังกาตั้งแต่วันที่ ๒๔ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๐ ส่งผลให้เกิดอุทกภัยและดินถล่มในหลายพื้นที่ของประเทศ และมีผู้ได้รับผลกระทบเป็นจำนวนมาก นั้น

          พลเอก ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายรานิล วิกรมสิงเห นายกรัฐมนตรีศรีลังกา และนายราวี คารูนานายาเก รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศศรีลังกา ตามลำดับ โดยมีรายละเอียด ดังนี้

 “Excellency,

                   It is with profound sadness that I learnt of the severe landslide and floods that have led to the tragic loss of many lives and irreparable damage to households and businesses throughout Sri Lanka.

                    On behalf of the Government and the people of Thailand, I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families who were affected by this calamity. I am confident that under your strong leadership and the solidarity of the people of Sri Lanka, the country will find the strength to recover from this difficult time. Thailand stands firmly beside Sri Lanka and is ready to provide our friend with assistance and support.

๒.     ข้อความสารจากนายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ถึงนายราวี คารูนานายาเก รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศศรีลังกา

 “Excellency,

                   I have learnt with deep sorrow of the devastating landslide and floods which have caused terrible loss of lives and severe damage to property throughout Sri Lanka.

                   Accordingly, I would like to extend my sincere sympathy and deepest condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to those who were affected by this disaster, especially the bereaved families of those who tragically lost their lives. Through the strength of the Sri Lankan people and the leadership of your Government, we are certain that the affected areas will recover swiftly and fully from the catastrophe. The Royal Thai Government stands ready to provide support and any possible assistance to the Sri Lankan people in our capacity as your friend and partner.
