On 20 March 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a Welcoming Dinner in honour of H.E. Mr. Theerakun Niyom, Former Ambassador of Thailand to Norway and Former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on his visit to Oslo. Norwegian friends of Ambassador Niyom were invited, including H.E. Ms. Bente Angell-Hansen, Former Secretary General, Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mrs. Merete Fjeld Brattested, Director General, Department for Multilateral Affairs, Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and former Ambassador of Norway to Thailand and Mr. Syver Brattested, her husband, H.E. Mrs. Solveig Skauan, Former Honorary Consul-General of Thailand and Mr. Jon Skauan, her spouse, Mr. Tage Pettersen, Storting Representative for Østfold, the Storting, Mr. Karl Otto Ellefsen, former Rector and Professor in Urbanism and Architecture, Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), and Ms. Nina Berre, his spouse. They are considered Friends of Thailand in Norway.
 
Ambassador Niyom was appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Norway during the year 2012-2015. He was profoundly respected and much loved by the Thai community in Norway and played an important role in fostering friendly bilateral relations between Thailand and Norway, especially in establishing good networking connection between Thailand and Norway.
 
The Thai Embassy in Oslo very much appreciate the visit to Oslo made by Ambassador Theerayun Niyom. We believe that the visit will further strengthen the cordial relations between Thailand and Norway.
