Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of Indonesia to Senegal

On 15 November 2022, H.E. Mrs. Thippawan Supamitkitja, Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Dindin Wahyudin, Ambassador of Indonesia to Senegal, on the occasion of assumption of duty. Both sides discussed ways to enhance relations with Senegal and West African countries, particularly promotion and facilitation of trade and investment. Both sides viewed that Afica is the continent of future with potential and business opportunities. Most importantly, Africa has become the emerging market for imported products from Southeast Asia, for instance, rice, agricultural products and machienery. Furthermore, there are investment opportunities in mining industry, namely, phosphorus and gold, as well as energy sector.

The two Ambassadors also agreed to further strengthen cooperation and resume meetings among ASEAN embassies and Asian embassies in Senegal in order to re-connect after the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions.
