On 15 March 2023 the Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra, and Thailand’s Candidature Committee presented the Phuket Expo 2028 Campaign to representatives of the Pacific Islands and African countries in Canberra, Australia.

Thailand’s Candidature Committee re-affirmed Thailand’s commitment and readiness to host the Expo 2028 in Phuket under the theme “Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity”. The Expo 2028 focuses on sustainability, in particular innovation and collaboration to overcome common challenges through the three pillars of People, Planet, and Prosperity. The Expo will transform Phuket and the region as well as the people’s mindset towards a more sustainable way of life and development.

In addition, international development cooperation is a core value and key component of Thailand’s foreign policy. In this regard, assistance packages are available to facilitate participation in the Expo to ensure inclusive participation and build on long term collaboration beyond the Phuket Expo 2028.

Thailand’s Candidature Committee who were the panelists, included H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia; Mr. Narong Woonciew, Governor of Phuket; Mr. Puripan Bunnag, Vice President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau; Mr. Bhummikitti Rakataengam, Advisory Chairman of Phuket Tourist Association, and Ms. Prinat Apirat, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Economic Affairs.
